How is it already the end of 2016? I feel like I was just writing my year-end recap for 2015! Regardless, 2016 was filled with so many exciting and amazing opportunities that I am beyond thankful for. While it will be pretty hard to top 2016, I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for me.
First off, I have to go ahead and thank all of YOU for your support and sweet comments you give me about my blog. Working full time and blogging on the side is a lot of work but it is something I love to do. When I hear someone tell me that they like this blog post or loved that outfit, it truly makes my late nights or early mornings worth it. In 2017 I will strive to bring creative content to the blog and want to engage with you all as my readers more! If you have any suggestions for posts, feel free to email me or leave a comment at the end of the post. Champagneista wouldn’t be where it is today with out all of you!
So let’s kick off this recap! 2016 started with Derek and I celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary in January. I am truly blessed to have a husband who is as loving and supportive as he is. He is the man behind the camera on most of my blog pictures and I can’t thank him enough for always encouraging to chase my dreams. He always makes me laugh and still puts up with my corny jokes.
Some things never change right? 😉
2016 was another wedding filled year. Derek and I were in two weddings together plus I was in my best friend’s wedding. We are so lucky to have so many friends who want to spend their special day with us. We had quite a few weddings attended just as guests and had a good amount of wedding dance parties, which are always one of my favorite things!
2016 checked off some MAJOR bucket list travel with our trip to Santorini. I still dream about the sunsets and how truly magical Santorini was. Can I go back yet? We also went to New Orleans for one of my high school girlfriend’s weddings and that is one city that will never get old. Bourbon Street is Disney World for adults where I can drink and dance all day! Her wedding was actually out on a plantation about an hour away from New Orleans and I totally felt like I was in the Notebook with how pretty it was. I also went to Miami for my friend Kerry’s bachelorette party where we got some much needed pool and beach time along with a night out on South Beach. I also made a trip up to Dallas to see my college besties and their little girls. Even thought I don’t get to see those ladies enough, we always pick right back up where we left off. Their little girls even fit into our group perfectly too!
This picture isn’t the best quality but it’s too cute not to share!
2016 marked by two years of blogging. I’ve accomplished some goals I thought I would never reach when I first started blogging. I love having my blog as my outlet to share fashion, recipes and travel and getting to connect with all of you! Since I started blogging I have made some incredible friendships along the way and have gotten to work and establish relationships with some awesome brands and photographers. For the second year in a row I was able to attend The Blog Societies Conference (TBSCon) in Charleston, which was so beneficial to my brand. Plus, who doesn’t love an excuse to go to Charleston?! Below are some pictures from TBSCon and some of my favorite posts from 2016!
2016 wouldn’t be complete with out my amazing family and dogs! I am so lucky to have my family and in-laws here in town to get to spend time with.
Cheers to 2016! It’s been one heck of a ride. I hope everyone has a safe and fabulous New Years Eve filled with champagne! Bring on 2017.
