Shop My Outfit:
Happy Tuesday! Today I’m sharing a look that is a little out of my comfort zone but I absolutely fell in love with the way it turned out. It is no surprise that I love rompers. I wear them all summer to keep cool from the heat and I got really excited when I found this romper because I knew it would be perfect to style for our Texas “fall”. First off I really love the on trend lace-up neckline as it it gives this simple romper a little something extra. The sleeves have a slight bell to them and are 3/4 length, which make them great for a cooler day. When styling a romper for the fall it is all about the length of the sleeves and print. Your sleeves should always be at least a 3/4 length or long sleeve. You should also look for fall colors and prints when choosing a romper for the fall. This romper passes all of my qualifications and is currently on sale for under $40!
What really took me out of my comfort zone while styling this romper were these over the knee boots. I purchased them last year at the end of winter and never got around to wearing them. When over the knee boots came back in style last year I immediately thought of Julia Roberts in Pretty Women and was skeptical if I could pull them off. The first pair I bought hit WAY too high on my leg and basically covered my whole leg. #Fail. When I finally bit the bullet and purchased this pair it was the perfect fit. I’m 5’3 and these boots work well for a person who is more petite but I have also seen them be perfect for you taller girls also. This heeled version lengthens the leg and looks fabulous when paired with a romper or dress! Not only can you wear these over the knee boots with a romper but also they are perfect to pair with mini dresses, jeans and leggings. I would say if you wear over the knee boots with a romper or dress, make sure that the clothing article is not form fitting (as in my romper that has defined waist yet looser cut top and bottom) to make them not look so provocative.
For accessories I played off the pattern in my romper and paired it with one of my go-to clutches. While the color of my clutch isn’t available anymore there are so many great fall color choices out now and who doesn’t love a bag with a monogram. These tassel earrings are also another favorite piece of jewelry in my fall collection. I purchased them in turquoise this summer and when I found them in this pretty burgundy color I knew I had to have them! They are incredibly lightweight and also come in dark purple, navy, red and black.
