I love living in Texas. I have lived here majority of my life and always say I got here as fast as I could. If there were one thing I would change about living here it would be the complete lack of seasons. Our temperatures typically range from REALLY hot and humid to hot to a little chilly. That’s about it. I dream of cooler weather and the leaves changing color of orange and red and not just dying and turning brown. Anyway, as all the fall fashion comes out in August I dream of wearing sweaters and boots but know I most likely won’t be able to sport most of these items until November, if I’m lucky! SO since a typically fall day for us Southern girls is around 80 degrees I’m talking about how to dress for fall in the south.
Over the years I’ve learned to look for fall colors and prints in clothing items that are a light weight material so I don’t die of a heat stroke. This outfit is the perfect example of how to incorporate fall pieces while still being functional in 80-degree weather. This burgundy blouse is a great example of an item to wear because the color scheme is fall colors yet the material and style are perfect for a warmer day. The ladder stitch detail adds in a unique detail and the longer length are all some of my favorite features of this top. I paired it with my favorite distressed denim but you could easily wear this with black denim or tuck into a pencil skirt for work.
These slip on booties are another item that work in a warmer climate. Their low cut and slip on style make them versatile and the perfect addition to your closet. I also am a sucker for hats and wear them to protect my face from the sun because at almost 30 fighting wrinkles is the real deal. A neutral felt floppy hat is another item that can add some fall flare to your outfit. I always think hats add an unexpected yet fun element to your outfit.
